Makedesign recommendations to reduce manufacturing costs and enhance productquality.
Coordinate Manufacturing, Materials and M/E on new model introductions. Support manufacturing departments by resolving day to day product problems. Make changes in methods, design or equipment where necessary. Define problem andinterface with necessary departments to ensure their immediate resolution.
Follow-up as necessary to guarantee that problem has been corrected to thesatisfaction of all concerned.
Provide training to necessary personnel in new methods and processes.Maintain all required contacts to keep abreast of developments in methods,equipment and other fields of possible value to the Company. Investigate items of potential useful application to Company operation and make recommendations as to adoption.
Coordinates and participates in departmental cost savings programs and the valueanalysis projects as directed.

Take time studies on group or individual, direct or indirect labor operations todevelop standard data and/or verify existing data.
Utilize a wide range of timestudy techniques such as continuous, repetitive, and ratio delay to establishequitable standards.
As assigned, instruct other in time study techniques,methods, application of standard data for estimating and comparative costs.
Periodically monitor manufacturing performance against standard through use oflabor reporting printouts.
Investigate deviations from standard (low or high)and take corrective action to bring performance back into line.Recommend tooling requirements; work and cooperate with Tool Design andmanufacturing personnel to develop effective tooling.Continually monitor existing operations and recommend possible improvements orcost reductions.
Prepare related analyses layouts and other supportive data.
Prepare comparative cost estimates using alternative production methods.Prepare optimum work center and facility layouts; coordinate, direct, and followup on layout changes.Justify, select and direct installation and follow up on all major capitalequipment installation.
Coordinate all interfacing departments to ensure atimely and uneventful installation.
As directed, participate in special investigative projects in areas of machineryand personnel effectiveness and utilization, material flow and storage, capitaland expense budgets, manpower requirements, assembly line balancing, make vs.buy analyses and obsolescent rework programs.
Effectively utilize Company mainframe computer and department personal computerto develop expedious and comprehensive programs and reports.Periodically participate in college courses to stay abreast with technologicaladvances in the industry, to enhance one's present experience level or as arefresher program.Provide input for long range project planning.
Prepare and provide to senior management reports and analysis as requested.
Provide assistance to manager of Industrial Engineering in training anddevelopment programs for other I. E personnel as requested.Coordinates and supervises Industrial Engineers and Technicians assigned to projects.Provide assistance as required to support I.E. functions and projects at otherplant locations.
Schedules work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS [SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES]This position must maintain close working relationships with both the Manager ofIndustrial Engineering and the Director of Manufacturing Engineering and will,at times, take direction from both.Organizational reporting will typically be to the Manager of IndustrialEngineering, except in instances of special project or technology focus wheredirect reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering will be assigned.
